Abstract: Practical Realities in the Assessment of Juvenile Sexual Risk

This workshop will address practical realities involved in conducting comprehensive assessment of risks for sexually abusive youth, and will generally address four primary aspects. (1) Completing commonly used juvenile sexual risk assessment instruments, including “scoring” the instrument, (2) Gathering the information required to complete the risk assessment instrument and write the evaluation report, (3) The content of the written evaluation report, and (4) conducting interviews with youths and parents. The workshop aims at developing a practical understanding of the risk assessment process.
