E-Health-Apps for the risk-assessment and treatment of child abusers

Peter Fromberger

E-Mental-Health Apps became more and more important in the treatment of mentally ill persons within the last years. Despite the good empirical evidence for their efficacy in general psychiatry and psychotherapy, E-Mental-Health Apps in the context of forensic psychiatry are sparse. This plenary overview current developments and research using the example of virtual reality and web-based apps. Furthermore, their possible benefit for risk assessment and treatment of men who committed sexual offenses against children will be discussed.
